Cast Iron Cookpot
February 7 @ 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
This is a social event to show how the cast iron ovens actually work.
There has to be a lot of hot coals to cook on and that requires a decent open fire. If there is a fire ban then this event may be cancelled.
I’m trying to cook some pizza, damper bread and use the jaffle irons for apple toasties. Bring your own cook pots along and experiment with some cooking.
This event is kid friendly as they can play with the fire and eat some food. There is a small dam to get wet in!
The fire takes about 2 to 3 hours to make some decent coals so there is no rushing this process. Bring chairs, soft drinks, nibbles and cooking ingredients.
There may a drive to Andersons Mill site later in the afternoon
See John for more details.
